Description

Panorama of Greece Photo Tour is a 8 days / 7 nights journey across unique iconic Greek scenery. We will embark on a full week Greece Photo Tour, across the most interesting places in Athens, famous Santorini island, magical Northern Peloponnese region, Ancient Olympia, Delphi archaeological site and Meteora ancient rocks formation, an unbelievable mountain scenery in Northern Greece.

This is a dream photography trip at the very best of what Greece has to offer. Have you ever considered to capture the ancient architecture of Athens? Imagine yourself navigating the streets at Santorini caldera region, photographing the white and blue of the Aegean sea. Be part of the ancient culture inside the birthplace of Olympic Games in Ancient Olympia. See for yourself the astonishing views at Meteora, capturing the ever glowing sunset. Home cooking, traditional recipes, eating with locals every day enjoying a wide variety of local winery to supplement a week long of unforgettable vacations.

An eight days, full board trip, a Greece Photo Tour visiting magnificent places and capturing the best photos along side a professional photographer.

Timetable (see below) will be followed but will heavily depend on the actual weather. It’s usually not rainy during October, but if that happens most of the time it’s mostly sporadic rain for short period of times. But the baseline itinerary will look like this:

Greece Photo Tour – Detailed itinerary

Day 1. A complete Athens Photo Tour in the morning. We begin right outside of the Acropolis Museum, on the footsteps the ancient Acropolis. You will walk thru Zappeio, to the Panathinaiκon stadium, the place where the Olympic Games of 1896 took place. By walking on the unseen roads of Plaka we discover the different houses, of Plaka neighborhood. After lunch you will have some time off and we will meet again one hour before sunset, when we will climb by cable car to Lycabetus Hill and take some photos of the beautiful Athens city sunset.

Acropolis

Day 2. We visit the famous Acropolis hill and Parthenon early and then the new Acropolis museum. It is a rather relaxed day but after lunch we travel south to Cape Sounio, where we visit the famous temple of Poseidon. Our day finishes with dinner by the sea before we return to the hotel.

Full Day Athens Photo tour

Day 3. We catch the ferry to Santorini island, and check in to our hotel. You will have some free time to spend in this unique island and after lunch we begin our walking photography tour to Fira and Imerovigli. We will end our day at Oia which is one of the most famous places in Greece for sunset photos.

Santorini Tinos Photo Tour

Day 4. Half day off for you to enjoy the great weather by the pool or the sea or set for a shopping adventure. We will catch a boat to the volcano island overlooking Fira and “Caldera” and our evening will end with drinks in one of the most iconic bar in Santorini. Optional morning wine tour at one of the island’s largest winery.

Day 5. We return to Piraeus port to start our journey south to Peloponnese region. During the day we visit the biggest canal in Greece (Corinth Canal), Epidaurus theatre, Nafplio city and finally arrive to Ancient Olympia were we check in for the night. We will find plenty of photo opportunities during our travel.

Day 6. We visit Ancient Olympia archaeological site, before embarking for our new adventure to see the biggest cable bridge in Greece at Rio, Nafpactos city and finally arrive at Delpfi (famous ancient place). We close the day with dinner and discussion.

Day 7. We visit Delphi archaeological site first thing in the morning and after continue our way to the beautiful rocky Meteora. We visit historical Monasteries and find our spot for a beautiful sunset photo opportunity. Dinner at one of the finest Greek restaurants in the area.

Day 8. Optional early wake up for sunrise photos from the Meteora mountains overlooking Kalabaka city and then we head back to the hotel for late breakfast and check out. We head to Athens for our final meet, were we present our best photos from the week, discussion over dinner and drinks.

Your Guide

Dimitris Giouvris a professional photographer, since 2002, worked as a news and sports photographer for various magazines, websites and newspapers. His passion for architectural and landscape photography led him to pursue tours, while the Greece photo tour is his best choice. What to bring

Gear:
– DSLR or Mirrorless camera with tripod and remote shutter release
– A wide angle lens. 10-24 or 16-35 mm
– A middle-zoom lens such as a 24-70 mm
– A telephoto zoom lens, such as a 70-200 mm or more

Wear:
– Comfortable walking shoes
– A waterproof jacket (just in case)
– Hiking pants
– Sun Protection + hat
– water bottle if you prefer, though bottled water is easily found and inexpensive in Greece
– Casual clothes for eating out!
