This is a dream photography trip at the very best of what Greece has to offer. These are holidays in Greece with the best weather conditions, early summer (June is still spring time in Greece) and spring in October. Have you ever considered to capture the ancient architecture of Athens? Imagine yourself navigating the streets at Santorini caldera region, photographing the white and blue of the Aegean sea. See for yourself the astonishing views at Meteora, capturing the ever glowing sunset. Visit a UNESCO site, photograph the unique stone arch bridges at Zagori in northern Greece.

Home cooking, traditional recipes, eating with locals and enjoying a wide variety of local winery to supplement days of unforgettable vacations. A ten days, full board trip, a Greece Photo Tour visiting magnificent places and capturing the best photos along side a knowledgeable professional photographer. Whatever your camera and knowledge, this is a chance to a vacation in one of the most visited country in Europe.

Timetable (see below) will be followed but will depend on the actual weather. It’s usually not rainy during June and October, but if that happens most of the time it’s mostly sporadic rain for short period of times. But the baseline itinerary will look like this:

Greece Photo Tour – Detailed itinerary

One day before start. You will be required to arrive the day before our photography tour starts. We will meet and get to know each other, highlighting the trip that will take us to Meteora, Zagori, Santorini and Athens in the next ten days.

Day 1. Catching the morning train to Kalambaka, a scenic train ride between the mountains to the town that overlooks Meteora cliffs. After checking in to our hotel we will have some rest time before we get the chance to photograph the majestic sunset at Meteora.

Day 2. A chance to capture a sunrise photo overlooking the town of Kalambaka and Meteora rocks. During the day we will visit a prehistoric cave, photograph a double waterfall and visit one of the oldest and most scenic old monasteries found at Meteora. We conclude the day with some more sunset spots overlooking the monasteries at Meteora.

Day 3. Departing for Zagori we stop to admire the natural views of Ioannina lake before arriving to Zagorochoria complex (more than 60 villages in a mountainous region). We photograph many of the well-known old stone bridges before arriving to our hotel for the day.

Day 4. A complete photography tour of Zagori, from the natural rock pools to the wonderful views of Voidomiatis river. A chance to walk and capture the unique Papigo village before finding our spot for the sunset spot of the day.

Day 5. Travel day to Santorini and some free time to compensate the long travel hours. Enjoy the pool (!) at this beautiful island before setting out for a sunset photo shoot at one of the most unique villages, Oia.

Day 6. Easy pace photography walk starting from Fira, the main spot in the island of Santorini. Later on the day we conclude with a stunning caldera region yacht cruise to the sunset. A wonderful way to catch the sunset at sea level away from the tourists.

Day 7. We visit and photograph the traditional villages in the mainland of Santorini in the morning, before having a great opportunity to taste some of the most famous Santorini wines, joining a wine tour in Santorini. Our sunset spot today is Imerovigli, another incredible high cliffs village at the caldera region.

Day 8. Very easy paces day with plenty of free time. We travel to Athens, set up for the next days and find our way to a scenic spot, in order to photograph the city of Athens during sunset.

Day 9. After sunrise photo shoot, we visit the famous Acropolis hill and Parthenon early and then the new Acropolis museum. It is a rather relaxed day after that but after lunch we travel south to Cape Sounio, where we visit the famous temple of Poseidon and set for another glorious sunset.

Day 10. We travel south of Athens to Corinth canal, visit the largest ancient theater in Greece and the beautiful port side town of Nafplio. Our day ends back in Athens were we host our farewell dinner.

Dimitris Giouvris a professional photographer, since 2002, worked as a news and sports photographer for various magazines, websites and newspapers. His passion for architectural and landscape photography led him to pursue tours, while the Greece photo tour is his best choice. What to bring

– DSLR or Mirrorless camera with tripod and remote shutter release
– A wide angle lens. 10-24 or 16-35 mm
– A middle-zoom lens such as a 24-70 mm
– A telephoto zoom lens, such as a 70-200 mm or more

– Comfortable walking shoes
– A waterproof jacket (just in case)
– Hiking pants
– Sun Protection + hat
– water bottle if you prefer, though bottled water is easily found and it is inexpensive in Greece
– Casual clothes for eating out!
